Adgregate Markets Strengthens Management Team with Microsoft, AOL, UGO, and Unicast Veterans for Next Growth Phase

10.13.2009—Adgregate Markets, the leading provider of transactional advertising solutions, today announced three key hires to its management team. Joining the Adgregate team are John Underwood as Chief Operations Officer, Manny Berrios as Chief Technology Officer, and Lori Stevens as Vice President, Sales.

John Underwood was recently Vice President of AOL's AIM Network Services where he managed its rich media ad business, and also previously led business development efforts for AOL Advertising. Mr. Underwood has extensive experience with transformative advertising businesses, having developed cross-platform advertising deals for AOL Time Warner and subsequently working to transform AOL into a scalable media sales business. In AOL's AIM messaging group, Mr. Underwood launched innovative rich-media advertising products, led business development, and managed AIM's developer program, with a focus on growing the reach, engagement, and monetization of the leading U.S. instant messaging service with over 30 million users. As Adgregate’s COO, Mr. Underwood will be responsible for network growth, advertiser and publisher recruitment, corporate development, and network operations.

Manny Berrios' extensive technology leadership and entrepreneurial experience has spanned over 17 years as Chief Technology Officer of several Internet media and technology services companies, and is a recognized and published expert in online security. Prior to joining Adgregate, Manny Berrios was the co-founding CTO of UGO Networks, an online gaming and entertainment company acquired by Hearst Corporation in 2007. At UGO, Mr. Berrios was responsible for building its technology infrastructure from the ground up, including its ad network, which served over 40 million worldwide monthly users; and its e-commerce property GameDealer.com, which handled over 1 million transactions per month. Mr. Berrios also co-founded and held CTO positions for several online ad tech, security, gaming and advance technology R&D companies, including AdFast Media, InTrust, In2apps, ActionWorld, Playlink, and I.T. Labs. As CTO of Adgregate, Mr. Berrios will lead all technology related initiatives at Adgregate Markets, including the development of its next generation ShopCloudTM distributed commerce platform.

Also joining the team is Lori Stevens who will lead global sales efforts with rich media vendor partners, interactive agencies, online publishers, and direct advertisers. Lori has been at the forefront of rich media innovation since the industry's inception and is a well-known and respected industry expert. She will draw on her extensive experience leading sales teams and closing multi-million dollar rich media initiatives at top-tier rich media vendors Unicast, Microsoft Atlas, and Eyeblaster. Lori was also previously involved with both online and traditional ad sales at industry giants McGraw Hill and Ziff-Davis. In addition to her extensive success in direct sales, Lori excels at developing new sales channels and building institutional sales capabilities for pioneering ad technologies. She was also intimately involved with the eCommerce product launches for Idealabs! Free-PC, and the industrial manufacturing giant Thomas Industrial Network.

Following AdECN’s successful acquisition by Microsoft in 2007, Mr. Urschel served in various positions at Microsoft, including Partner and General Manager for the Display Advertising Platform and Insight Tools Group. Mr. Urschel is currently Principal of the Urschel Fund, which invests in software and internet startups.
